In response to an official invitation extended by the Thai Prime Minister, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam, left for Bangkok on Monday evening on an official visit to meet a number of Thai officials and opinion leaders.
Dr. Allam will hold important meetings with the Thai Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh of Islam and a number of executive officials and ministers responsible for religious affairs. He will also take part in a conference on fighting extremism and terrorism. During his meetings and the conference, Dr. Allam will present Dar al-Ifta’s experience in fighting this global threat.
In the light of pursing the endeavors of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide to build bridges of cooperation and communication with Muslims worldwide, Dr. Allam will meet the Egyptian community in Thailand to provide them with the necessary Islamic legal support and guidance.
